Our story
A villa from the resort years
Opatija filled with villas when the railway arrived and the coast became a winter resort, and this was one of them: a summer house with a terrace, a boathouse and more rooms than any family needed. It spent the last century as a sanatorium, then a state hotel, then nothing much. We kept the cornice, the terrace and the cedars along the drive, and rebuilt everything else around a simple idea: a resort that behaves like a good hotel rather than a big one.
The old ballroom became the Raizeda casino, the ground floor our kitchen and bar, and the boathouse steps the way down to the sea-water pool.

The bay, kept at the right temperature
The pool is filled from the bay and heated from April to October, with loungers along the terrace and shade at the far end. Steps lead from the terrace down to the Lungomare, so you can swim in the pool, walk twenty metres and swim in the sea instead. The bar opens at noon.

The Raizeda Casino
One floor below the lobby, the casino keeps the manners of the old riviera: dark wood, low lamps, a bar with a proper list and croupiers who have worked the same tables for years. Slot machines, roulette, blackjack, baccarat and a poker room, open to residents and visitors from the age of 18.

Single-zero wheels, limits from modest to high, and electronic terminals for a calmer round.
Blackjack & baccarat
Our croupiers deal the card tables each evening. Private tables can be booked in the salon off the main floor.
Poker room
Texas Hold'em cash tables most nights, with a tournament every Saturday. The schedule is posted at the poker desk.
